Procedure |

Set Induction 5 minutes |
1) The teacher starts the class with recitation of al-Fatihah. 2) The teacher asks the students how they are feeling today. 3) The teacher will set the writing theme that centers on pollution. 4) The teacher will briefly explain to students on how to use Ginger software and The Brain. |

1) Brief explanation on writing, which they have to do in the class. 2) The teacher will explain the components of writing such as the using of proper sentence construction, appropriate uses of tenses, and punctuation by using a PowerPoint presentation. 3) Later the teacher explains what needed to be included in the paragraph, e.g. thesis statement, topic sentence, elaboration and cohesive sentence. Prewriting 1) Students start gathering information as a whole class activity and discuss on their points by brainstorming. 2) At this point, students will be using The Brain software in helping them to organize their points. 3) The students then are divided into groups which consist of four. They will discuss as a group of what to insert into their writing. The teacher will engage with students talking by asking open-ended questions, for example: What did you like best? Or What did you see? And prompt them to elaborate, using questions such as Can you tell me more about that? 4) As students type, the teacher will monitor student progress and conduct individual student-teacher consultation. The student will report their progress. Writing 1) Students have to transfer the individual information they gathered and organize it into a word processor. 2) Teacher instructs the students that they only have 25 minutes to complete their writing. 3) The teacher will monitor the students and guide them along the process of their writing. 4) The teacher will ask students to complete their writing in a given time. Revising 1) Students will be asked to revise their own writing and make any changes that they think necessary to make their work more accurately representing their ideas. 2) These changes involve adding, deleting, rearranging, and substituting words. 3) Allow students to voice out the problems they see in their writing and make sure they satisfied with their writing before the time is up. Proofreading 1) Students will now scan their writing for mistakes by using Ginger software, the grammar and orthographic enhancement technology. 2) Students will click on the Ginger toolbar, and choose the rephrase and checker option in order to detect their mistakes. 3) It is important that students gain mastery of proofreading skill as this improves students’ writing over time. 4) The teacher gather the common errors made by students of what had been taught at the beginning of the lesson. 5) Students then will share their mistakes and report to class randomly.

*Notes: Students are already familiar with blogging and have their own blog. Students will be informed to put their work and report into their blog. |
Closure 5 minutes |
1) The teacher recaps on the lesson that they have learnt in the class. 2) Take the time to summarize the lesson. 3) The teacher opens Q&A session. 4) End the class with Tasbih Kifarah and Surah al-Asr.
