Reflection on Assignment 2 (CMC)

             In our second assignment, we examine the effectiveness of using forum as a medium to second-language learning. Through psycholiguistics point of view, the effectiveness relies on the response-feedback of the audience. Meaning to say, if there's no response, then the possibility of fossilization of language is high.

       

             From this assignment, we realized that every part of a community is important. The feedback could be from anybody if the teacher chooses to ignore or forget to give the response needed, anybody else could do it. This teaches us that every department is there for a reason.

             Secondly, we notice the need to be independent here. If someone does not perform as he supposed to, someone else could take the charge. Instead, from what we see in the forum, every member ignores the errors and hoping for the teacher to correct it.

             Thirdly, we as Muslims acknowledge that errors are made by everyone, and what comes after it is what matter. Will the error be amended? Or will it be the norm?

             Next, we realised on the importance of correcting mistake. Although it might look snobbish, but with the right approach, it can be implemented. The problem arise here is the stigma that everyone who corrects other people are proud of themselves. This is a major problem that we might have to take on now.

             We realised that the usage of computer and network is very vague and implicit, but as the popular saying goes, 'With great power, comes a great responsibility'.
